Lia

In 1997 we decided to leverage the success of Delilah for AC radio with a Country daypart program.

Our market research convinced us there was an opportunity, once again due to the consolidation of the radio industry.  After a long search we debuted Neon Nights.  The reaction to the concept was good but the real opportunity was to have a strong female talent as host.  We had been watching Lia closely and we made her the host in 1998. She replaced a well know radio personality and we actually lost stations (down to 15) but we saw her potential and her drive to succeed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our challenges included positioning the program as a unique sound from Delilah, grooming Lia to execute on the different plan, developing a support team and honing the program. The targeted marketing campaign and an excellent affiliate sales organization proved to be the right combination. By 2001 Lia was on over 130 stations and growing.

Lia was cleared in major markets like Houston, San Diego, St Louis and Seattle. She won two Gracies Awards from the AWRT and a CMA personality of the year award in 2005.
