In the Spring of 2004 Jones Radio asked Jim and President Ron Hartenbaum to identify the ideal candidate to add to the company’s roster of female friendly talent. After much research and brainstorming Jim identified the BEST candidate in a perfect world. Marie Osmond, every women’s friend and many men’s secret sweetheart. Jim cold called Marie’s agent, proposed in-person meetings, met and convinced Marie and her team that this could be a great opportunity. By January 2005 a complex agreement was finalized with William Morris and a team of agents and Marie debuted to a national audience in afternoon drive. Marie developed a strong following on over 20 radio stations in the first year of broadcasting. |
